Mobility Quotient (MQ) is seeking an Editor to manage our two digital publishing platforms: JustWine and JustBeer.
The desired candidate should have: a deep understanding and experience managing a website and content strategy for a digital publication; experience building and managing a content calendar; experience using a content management system (CMS); a clear understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and associated strategies to ensure content format improves search rankings; and working knowledge of Google Analytics & Trends and how they can be utilized to refine a content strategy.
Our goal is to help our audience experience beer and wine outside of the realm of the “Friday night pregame”; beer and wine are as much science and art as they are a social lubricant. To help us achieve this goal, you will be writing and editing quick pieces about consumer trends and industry news; creating informative and educational (long-form and evergreen) content; crafting quirky and fun “sharable” content for our social channels; identifying and reporting on trends in the local or international beer or wine industries; and generally keeping in touch with what local businesses are doing and promoting their efforts on the site.
At MQ we are primarily a Digital Agency that provides technical experience to clients around the world. We also have a “Products” division that explores, tests, and launches ideas that we feel have merit. JustWine and JustBeer are two products which encapsulate this effort. They are resource hubs for people who love beer or wine and who are seeking to learn more about either. Each site is loaded with information applicable to each topic; from brands and their products, to press releases and educational content, JustBeer and JustWine are the fastest-growing digital resources for their associated audiences in Canada. We are seeking an individual who has vision and proficiency to help us elevate the product and refine the value we offer our users.
**Note: As this position is largely a technical role, deep understanding of wine and beer are not a requirement and preference will be given to those with the most applicable experience.
